Week 7 reflection

Bonjour. Je suis Te Wehi. Learning French is so much fun. While French there was so much to do!!!!!!!
This week was crazy busy. I had heaps of work to get finished so that I could focus on other things.
On Monday  i'm very glad that it wasn't that long of an assembly no offense. Anyway Mrs Crowe decided, that we would do a group task and what it was based on was the brain and how it works and all of that. When we did the draw to see which group had what ever question they had, I ended up with What is the effect of left brain right brain on how people learn? Can it be changed? How?The group that I'm in are just starting on the presentation.
On Tuesday the WIMS volleyball teams went down to the Event Centre to compete against other Intermediate schools. During that we had our last Tech Arts lesson in soft materials where I literally rushed my whole entire bag  that it didn't end up as a mess. I just rushed the Velcro and now it's starting to tear off. When we go to Tech Arts next wee doing design known as hard materials. I wish I was a year 8 because they get to make cool as stuff like speakers, and phone holders when we have to start right from the basics.
On Wednesday we played against Room 15 in softball and it came out as a tie. We also went to French when we learnt the alphabet which was cool. The vowels sound a lot like the Maori ones and a lot of the letters were said differently. We are also started learning a few words in French which is quite fun. I finally got my chance to become a jump jam leader which was really amazing. I only knew four songs and their were only five but dose that really matter. No!!!!!!!!!Anyway when it came to Thursday it was really fun.
Thursday is my favorite day of the week because of extension Maori and Kapahaka and even Choir. In Extension Maori is basically a grade higher than normal. We learn a bit more advanced in Te Reo and we know most of the basics. That day we did our Mihi which is a way to express yourself and where your from. After interval, I went to Kapahaka where we taught the Makahari students how to do Kapahaka. During that session, we played this really funny game called Pukana and how you play is you get into a circle and you have to follow a leaders words. When you get the part when you say pukana you can only do pukana beside you. If you want a little more challenge you can say aue and they have to sing a song. Any song. After that we did a few songs for them and taught them proper skills in Kapahaka. When choir was on I totally freaked out because when Mrs Crowe came in she wanted me because Mr Denize was announcing the swimming finals certificates. I got given ten certificates and came first in the overall competition where I got given a medal.
On Friday we worked on our brain inquiry. That day we also said farewell to the Makahari students which was sad but at least they got to come. By the way they are really good singers. We sang Bulletproof back to them which was really funny. I'll keep you guys updated when ever I get a chance. This week I'm competing in the Waikato champs for under 12's in Hamilton at Water world and you guys should know where that is if you want to come. If you can wake up at 6:30 at least and be there by 9:00 cause that's when it's starts you can come around. It's on Saturday. Au Voir

Week 6 Reflection

This week has been crazy cool!!!!!!!!
Finding out who are the head students, and Kapahaka, and all these other activities that I don't know about. Anyway on Monday I finished my published and edited report (supposed to be an explanation at the start) all down, but when the bell was going to ring I forgot about my Self Assessment.
After that bad day I started to focus on my maths and getting used to new strategies, and getting work completed and for that hard work I am going to keep it up because I got a signature.
Tech Arts is hard now that were near the end especially since we have to make a bag. I feel bad for all the other categories I mean imagine what there doing right now.
I enjoyed Wednesday because it wasn't as bad. What I mean is I wasn't as stressed on getting work done. I was just calm, and getting on with work.
Sometimes when go out and play I feel like I'm very happy because i'm playing with my friends and just hanging out with people I really do admire.
Finding out who the head students is exciting isn't it. When I heard the first four names I was so happy. Just as all the head students had collected their badges, the Kapahaka group did a special Haka just for them for showing leadership and working hard for this position.
I'm so glad that those kids got the opportunity I mean this is a once and lifetime opportunity because they only choose year 8's for this role and fair enough because it is their last year.

Hopefully they enjoy their last year.
I'll keep you guys updated with all that's happening.

Week 5 Reflection

Every week just keeps on getting harder and harder. At the start of the year it wasn't as challenging as what I thought but I remember that you can't start hard and then easy. Taking smaller steps makes it easier for harder ones.During maths I am learning how to write numbers in expanded form and exponents/powers.I haven't written an explanation before. More like reports or persuasive or fiction. In Kapahaka we learnt a new song called Whaiaipo. Apparently it used to be a poi but they changed to a normal Waiata. Whaiaipo means partner but we changed it to sweet girl.Finding out test results is always nerve racking but at the same time exciting.I'm very impressed on what my test results were.I'm a big fan of maths, writing, and spelling but not much reading, vocabulary and punctuation and grammar.Friday swimming. On Friday we did swimming sports for champs and  non champs.I won all my races apart from apart from the opens and some of the non champs. I got a lot of compliments that day. A lot of kids thought I was a year 8 but I would just verse year 8's in open races. I really enjoyed yesterday. I really hope Waipa wins. They deserve to win even though I'm in Waipa myself. By the way I'm not a big fan of compliments but I just have to accept it don't I. I'll keep you guys updated on everything that is happening at school.
