On Monday we learnt that Mr Graham was okay and that he was going home to recover by the weekend. To be honest, he shouldn't have tried to do a double front flip anyway. After assembly we went back to class and started doing some work on apostrophes and how to use them. The thing I learnt is if you don't 100% know how to use them.
DON'T! Anyway how you use them is you need to see what that noun belongs to and if it makes sense.

All the pupils' seats were taken
You would put it after pupils because pupil seats does not make sense.
Then we played volleyball in the ALC after lunchtime. That's where we learnt how to include others.
On Tuesday we made Nachos in food and I learnt that when the dial is on the highest temperature, it does not mean (a low simmer). We also learnt how to multiply and divide algorithms with decimals.
If you want to multiply you don't have to line your decimals up. You can just leave them as they are. As a normal algorithm. Then you do normal multiplication. When you get to the end, you count how many numbers are on the left of the decimal and count how many places by starting on the right and you put the decimal place on before the number that you counted.
Say there are three decimal places on the left of the decimal you would do this to the number
562903- The decimal would go before the nine and after the two- 562.903
As for division, how many ever times you multiply your number by to make it a whole number, you have to do to the inside.
Outside- 0.7 (you need to times it by ten so that it's a whole number) 7
Inside- 58.6232 ( since you times the outside by ten you need to do the same on the inside) 586.232
On Wednesday we did ICAS Science and it wasn't that bad. I just got stuck on a couple of questions and that caused a little time delay but I carried on. We also learnt in reading about to replace words with different ones in the text.
On Thursday we perfected our Whakaeke (entry) in Kapa haka.
We also had a man named Lex come in and talk about cyber bullying. He talked about Digital Footprint and bullying and all this other stuff. He talked about how thirty-seconds to think about whether you should delete something is enough time for someone to save it and repost it. He also said that there is always a good side of things and a bad side. He said we should be safe on social media and any photos or texts we post or send.
We also got put into teams for our School Winter Games and I got put into Basketball.
On Friday we had French and we learnt the seasons in French.
Summer- ete ( e-ti)
Winter- hiver ( ee-ve-ier)
Spring- printemps (pra-tom)
Autumn- l'automne ( lu-turn)
Then we put them in to categories like snowing would go in winter.
Then we had Tech Arts where I made wedges and it was really fun. I learnt that you only need a little bit of spices and not a lot like another person did.
When we had Inter-house Winter champs, I thought we were going to lose but we did the exact opposite and the great thing is that all the other sports got at least one win so it was really fun.
We actually could take it out.
