This week has been a little bit different. There were only four days this week and next week is only three. A very funny curve ball there!!!!!!!!
On Monday I got announced on the stage for competing in the Waikato Champs which I explained in my last post competition. Today was also my student LED conference and wasn't as bad as what I thought. I said that I needed a lot of work on my reading and little refreshers on everything else. We did this task and it was based on reading where we had to find clues to try and figure out the setting(If it was the theater or movies you get the clue may ticket and popcorn). I enjoyed that task but the last one tripped me up as in I got it wrong. I wrote subway station and not underground but I learnt that you need to write the proper word.On Tuesday the WIMS touch teams went to compete for the school. Today we learnt a did a new song for Jump Jam which is called Freaks and we may teach Team A early next term.Today was busy because we had a explanation due today about the Water Cycle. We also competed against Room 13 in Softball and lost just by one point (5-6 to them) and we were all disappointed and even they were because it was their worst game. Honestly we all lost because of me cause I past the ball to home when I should of taken the easy out which was base one but I've learnt my mistake. I was sad that we didn't have any French today but I'm pretty sure we will catch up on the units. On Thursday we learnt the first bit of the poi which was cool but where still need to learn other main songs to put this all together. While we do all of that we still need to focus on hosting Kapahaka this year.
WEEK 9
On Wednesday we did do French today with Room 14 & 15 which was cool. I am really getting the hang of speaking in French. Bonjour Je suis Te Wehi. E toi. That's how you say Hello my name is Te Wehi. What's yours. Now we are learning new sayings or how to count in French. On Thursday I had to fill in important in my Mihi for extension Maori such as who your brothers and sisters are or grandparents. We got to stay for the whole entire session up till morning tea which was cool because it gives us more time to learn and get prepared to say a our Mihi. Also we had our Inter-house summer games and it wasn't that bad but I would have liked to play softball or dodge ball instead of Touch but we won two games and lost two. Honestly Puniu have a good chance of winning the Inter-House competition. On Friday we organised our transport for camp in Week 11 and who was in which dorms. After that we did this task for our writing how you have to rid of the "to be verb" or on this worksheet it had all these examples about how to explain the setting. That was really challenging. Anyway in the afternoon we had Maori and I had to say my Mihi and it was a big step for me. That is all that happened in my two weeks at TAI. I will keep you guys updated. Auvoir
I love reading your blog each week because you focus on what you have learned and you are very honest with your thoughts! Keep it up. You do need to read your work through carefully for errors as you sometimes miss out words or put in the wrong word. Do you use the spell check in blogger?
